Heritage Auctions, the world’s largest numismatics auctioneer, has hired Roxana Uskali as Director of Numismatics for its newest office in Chicago, located at 215 W. Ohio Street.
“We are offering our clients a full range of services at our newest location and Roxana will bring our Midwest clients stellar experience and service,” said Greg Rohan, President of Heritage Auctions.
Like many numismatic experts, Uskali began collecting rare coins by frequenting local coin and stamp shops as a young child. She later graduated cum laude from Loyola University Chicago, receiving degrees in world history, theology and piano performance. But it was her experience with rare coins, vintage bank notes and her love of travel that quickly drew her into the world of numismatics as an adult.
She spent nine years working as the principle world coin numismatist for the Chicago firm, Harlan J. Berk, Ltd., and more recently her own company, KRCoins. During the last several years, she has helped catalog Heritage’s world coin auctions, and frequently attends major coin shows around the United States and abroad.
In addition to being a member of the American Numismatic Association, the International Bank Note Society and the Central States Numismatic Society, Uskali also produces Coincasts, coin-related educational videos for the public.
“The opportunity to grow Heritage’s new Midwest office will be a unique and thrilling experience,” Uskali said. “This market has much to offer and we’re ready to make our mark as the go-to resource for the entire region.”
